Nuclear cultural heritage: what can one exhibit tell us?
On 27 March 2024, Linara Dovydaitytė presented the biography of a miniature replica of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant – a model preserved in the Museum of Energy and Technology in Vilnius.
The rich biography of the model of the INPP, created in 1980, allowed to navigate between science, technology and art, to look at the nuclear past and future and to highlight the potential of the artefacts of the nuclear heritage.
The lecture was based on the results of Linara Dovydaitytė’s research. She studied the path of the model from its production to its varying display during the Soviet era and in independent Lithuania.
