Eglė Rindzevičiūtė presented a keynote at the 10th Nordic Conference on Cultural Policy Research (NCCPR)

Eglė Rindzevičiūtė presented a keynote “Cultural Policy in Northern Europe: Beyond Residual Governance” at the 10th Nordic Conference on Cultural Policy Research (NCCPR). The NuSPACES principal investigator broadened the perspective on the Nordic Cultural Policy-model both geographically and topically by using sites of nuclear power for a discussion of cultural heritage addressing questions that are not handled in the current cultural policy models. The 2021 conference focused on the theme “The Nordic Cultural Model – Revisited, Rejected, Reimagined” and was organised by the University of Borås, Sweden.

The NuSpaces Final Report Presented to the Visaginas Community

On 28 November, Dr Linara Dovydaitytė and Oksana Denisenko presented policy recommendations based on the final report of the NuSpaces project at the Visaginas City Museum. Participants were also introduced to the Lithuanian team's research on early memory practices related to the Ignalina nuclear power plant (INPP) and the city of Visaginas, as well as the biography of the INPP model and its changing role.

NuSPACES final event at Science Museum London

The international research project "The Nuclear Spaces: Communities, Materialities and Locations (NuSPACES)" invites to the final report launch and discussion which will gather scholars and practitioners to discuss the future of nuclear cultural heritage in the context of social change.

Egle Rindzeviciute participated in a fieldtrip to Onkalo

On 26-29 May 2024, Egle Rindzeviciute participated in a fieldtrip organised by Prof Ele Carpenter at Umeå University, as part of the Nuclear Culture Research Group. The trip was funded by a grant from the Swedish Research Council and gathered Prof Susan Schuppli (Goldsmiths), Alex Ressel (Griffith) and Erich Berger (Oulu).
