NuSPACES Swedish team activities
For three days – 4-6 October 2022 – the NuSPACES’ Swedish team gathered in Malmö, Barsebäck and Kävlinge to exchange ideas and updates on individual project activities, to plan for the NuSPACES workshop in Sweden 2023, and to work in the municipal archive close to Barsebäck.
We had productive and inspiring discussions kindly hosted by Malmö Museums and the Barsebäck nuclear power plant. Among other things, we visited the old Expo building just outside the plant area and found several interesting objects and documents, some of which were immediately donated to Malmö Museums’ Barsebäck collection.
In the municipal archive, we focused on documents connected to the so-called Local Security Committee, an organization set up by the Swedish government the 1980s in all municipalities hosting a nuclear plant, to provide local public control of the nuclear facility.
Over the three days, a total of nine people participated, representing Malmö Museums, Kulturen, the Swedish National Museum of Science and Technology, Barsebäck Kraft and Linköping University.
