Swedish Team’s fieldwork in the region around the Barsebäck nuclear power plant
In early February, Karin Edberg and Anna Storm spent a fieldwork week in the region around the Barsebäck nuclear power plant.
The primary task was to go through the separate archive of the so called Local Safety Commission, a body of local political representatives in direct dialogue with the nuclear power plant. The archive, dating back to the early 80s, is currently located within the municipal archive but is shortly to be screened and transferred elsewhere.
In addition, a couple of interviews with former secretaries of the Local Safety Commission were carried out. Finally, a preparatory visit was made, together with the NuSPACES’ colleagues from Malmö Museums, Yvonne Magnusson and Birgitta Kelly, to a nearby school where the team will later on organize a drawing workshop focusing on generational aspects of nuclear heritage.
